Is It Too Late for This Year?
As you can see from the sample rehearsal schedule below, the original production rehearsed for five weeks with two one-hour sessions per week.
We added a couple extra rehearsals at the end for a total of 16 hours of rehearsal. Our director was pretty seasoned, our actors were amateurs with some not having been onstage in 20 years.
The schedule was pretty relaxed for that collection of
participants. If you have an experienced director and a collection of actors who are quick studies,
there is no reason why the show
couldn't be mounted in just a couple weeks time. If your church does quite a bit of chancel drama, you may be able to prepare BTUR in just a matter of weeks.
Keep in mind all the planning and scheduling involved. If
in doubt, give us a call and we'll help you sort out whether
it's best to go ahead or just wait until next year. We
want you to have the best possible experience with BTUR. |
